Samsung Unveils Bespoke AI Ice Purifier: Smart Water Filtration Meets Ice Maker
Samsung has expanded its smart home lineup with the launch of the Bespoke AI Ice Purifier, an appliance that merges advanced water purification technology with a built-in ice maker. This product aims to redefine kitchen convenience by integrating artificial intelligence, voice control, and automated maintenance into a single unit.
Advanced Filtration and Ice Production
The purifier employs a four-stage filtration system certified by NSF International, designed to remove particles up to 1,000 times smaller than a human hair's thickness. It targets harmful bacteria, microplastics, and heavy metals like chromium, lead, and mercury, eliminating 82 types of contaminants. Beyond purification, the unit can produce up to 1,000 ice cubes per day (approximately 8kg) and store 100 cubes at once for on-demand dispensing.
AI-Powered Hygiene and Smart Features
AI-assisted electrolysis automates cleaning of the water pipe, ice box, and ice tray, with sterilization cycles every three days for the pipe and every 30 days for ice components. UV sterilization further ensures hygiene, combating pathogens like E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The system also includes automatic water drainage every four hours to prevent microbial growth, and a stainless-steel water pipe reduces contamination risks.
Built-in Bixby voice recognition allows hands-free operation, with the AI learning individual voices to dispense water at preferred volumes and temperatures. Through the SmartThings app, users can fine-tune water flow from 50ml to 1,000ml and set temperatures up to 90°C. The purifier supports saving customized settings for up to 20 items, including coffee and ramen recipes.
Design and User Interface
A front-facing touchscreen display serves as the control hub, enabling settings management, ice and water dispensing, and displaying weather information or acting as a timer. Smart lighting facilitates nighttime use without disturbance. The appliance comes in three finishes: Satin Beige, Satin Grey, and Soapstone Charcoal.
Availability and Pricing
The Bespoke AI Ice Purifier is currently available in South Korea, priced at approximately $1,656 (KRW 2.39 million). There is no official word on international availability at this time.
